Fundraising for Komen

Planning a Fundraising Activity?

We are honored to be contacted so often by passionate members of our community wanting to organize an event or promotion benefiting breast cancer awareness and research. The Boise Affiliate of Komen for the Cure® partners with others because it benefits both parties in terms of public awareness.

Official Fundraising Partners

If you are interested in applying to the Affiliate to become an official fundraising partner, the following guidelines must be met:

• Minimum Guaranteed Donation:  All Affiliate sanctioned events and product promotions must guarantee a minimum donation amount.
• Third Party Application:  The application must be submitted to our Affiliate at least 30 days before the date of the proposed event or promotion. If you are interested in doing a promotion during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) or during Race Season (February - May), you will be asked to complete your application 45 days before the proposed event or promotion due to the increased number of applications.
• Third Party Agreement:  If you are approved as an Affiliate event or promotion, you will need to sign an agreement with the Boise Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
• Use of Name and Logo:  You will be required to follow all rules on the use of our name and logo which will be provided with the signed contract.  Please note: Only approved events have the rights to use our name and logo as approved by the Affiliate.
• Event Insurance:  Must be obtained 30 days prior to the event (as outlined by the Affiliate).  Some product promotions may also be required to provide insurance documentation depending on the nature of the promotion.

We want to make this process as simple as possible. In order for us to give each event and/or promotion request its due attention, we ask that you first read through the Guidelines available to assist you in planning your event or promotion.

If after you've read the guidelines, you are interested in entering into an agreement with the Komen Boise Affiliate, please download and fill out the Third Party Application complete and return to Liz Brodie at Boise Affiliate of Susan G. If you decide that the size of your event does not warrant the effort to follow these guidelines, there are three other ways to support Komen: Option 1:  You may want to consider registering for Passionately Pink for the Cure®.  This program allows individuals, business and clubs/groups to fundraise for Komen.  The website provides resources for your fundraising activities as well as a customizable web page. Option 2:  You may want to consider not using the Komen name/logo and instead making a general statement that the funds raised will go to a local breast health organization or breast cancer research and support. We would be honored to receive funds raised and would give public recognition for your donation. Option 3:  Rally for the Cure® has expanded their well-established golf program to other events.  You can now plan a Rally for the Cure® program for sporting events like tennis, dinner events such as wine-tasting or group/club activities such as a bridge or book clubs.  Click here to learn how you can become a Rally Ambassador.
